Financial Aid and Student Funding

At our institution, we believe that financial circumstances should not prevent motivated students from pursuing career training. Many students enrolled in recognized vocational training programs in Quebec may qualify for financial assistance through the Quebec Student Financial Assistance Program (Aide financière aux études – AFE).

Financial aid can help students cover tuition and living expenses while completing their studies.

Types of Financial Assistance

Financial aid provided by the Quebec government generally includes two types of support: student loans and bursaries.

Student loans

Student loans are financial assistance that must be repaid after your studies are completed.

These loans are offered through the Quebec government in partnership with financial institutions and are designed to support students while they focus on their education.

Key features of student loans include:

  • No repayment required while studying full-time
  • Low interest rates compared to most personal loans
  • Flexible repayment options after completing your studies
  • Available to help cover tuition and study-related expenses

Student loans can help support expenses such as:

  • Tuition fees
  • Books and learning materials
  • Transportation
  • Living expenses during your training

Repayment typically begins after you complete or leave your program.

Bursaries (Non-Repayable Grants)

Bursaries are financial assistance that do not need to be repaid.

This support is provided by the Quebec government to help students whose financial situation requires additional assistance.

Bursaries may be granted based on factors such as:

  • Personal financial situation
  • Family income
  • Living expenses
  • Program of study

Many students receive a combination of loans and bursaries, which can significantly reduce the amount that needs to be repaid after graduation.

How Financial Aid Is Calculated

The amount of financial assistance a student may receive depends on several factors, including:

  • Personal income
  • Family situation
  • Program duration
  • Cost of living
  • Tuition and study expenses

Each application is assessed individually by the Quebec government’s student financial assistance program.

What Expenses Can Financial Aid Cover?

Financial aid may help cover a variety of expenses while you complete your training, including:

  • Tuition fees
  • Books and learning materials
  • Housing and living expenses
  • Transportation costs
  • Childcare expenses (when applicable)

This support allows many students to focus on their studies and career preparation.
